Turning Wrenches / Re: A7 Clutch
May 13, 2022, 03:33:33 AM
I found the clutch on my wife's A1 samurai to be a prick of a thing. There was not a lot of adjustment before it started to slip.

Check the usual things first.

If that fails, I ended up reshaping the ramp on the throw out plate and fitting an aftermarket lever perch.

Plenty of info on this board regarding proformance, short answer about fitment is they need to have the intake stub machined down or run a larger manifold.

Chuck use to sell a bolt on kit, but I havnt seen him on here in a while? He would be the best man to answer.

In Western Australia, we received a $600aud credit to our electricity account. We are lucky to have a great government and (mostly) be CV19 free (some cases in overseas quarantine).

Every state and country is different and I wish you all the best in these troubled times!

the track seal was the source of a mystery leak on my 400. Looked good, I had a leak that looked to be coming form the studs that go through the case.
Chuck pressure checked it and located it.

Side track, but Chuck has been very quiet lately! Is he ok?

Thinking simple still, perhaps your new line has been over crimped? Only way to test would be to remove and push air through it...

Good point about the overflow tube! I had one come loose in my bridgestone 350. Took some finding to work it out.

Not sure of the exact name but it was blue masking tape. I also used a razor blade to trim the lines on the spokes.

Hope that helps.

When I did my 400e rims (same as Daytona in Australia) I polished the lips first, then taped up and painted.

Took a lot of effort but end result was worth it!

You could try and test the needle actually shuts the flow fuel off by removing the fuel bowl manually lifting up and down the float (gently)

Have you checked you don't have a hole in a float?

Yambits does made a replica but I think more info is needed here.

What component comes loose?

Have you contacted Nic for advice?

Pictures would help.

Turning Wrenches / Re: HWY millage worse?

Agreed. I found once I fitted chambers (home made) and dialed
In, fuel economy became better. I put it down to making more power or the engine being more efficient.

Either how, fuel economy is not for me, I only ride on vintage rallies or the odd back road blast.

I've found two strokes to always be heavy on the juice. My RD400 is about 10/L per 100kms and my Bridgestone 350 is up around 12L per 100km!

License bracket is cool, but won't your plate cover it?

The Allspeeds are of a more basic design than Spec2. So I doubt they Will give the same power.
Like a lot of expansions Allspeeds/Gibsons on their own add zero power but do save some weight. Left "as is" all you're buying is looks & noise

Looks and noise! Isn't that why we got them to start with??
