Installing a vape system.  The instructions say to bring one piston to TDC, then to adjust the rotor per instructions and tighten.

I read and seen a video in which the piston was brought up 1.8 BTDC.  Can anyone advice me on which it is?

Also, not sure the best way to torque the rotor.  No torque spec were given in the instructions.  I was just going to use a impact driver to torque the bolt down.???

I have a new dial indicator from Economy Cycle. 

Can anyone tell me how to put an extension on.  It looks like I just need to unscrew the bottom cap and screw back on the extension.  If that is the case, then that cap is on real good.  Any suggestions on how to do this without damaging the dial gauge?

Anyone have any knowledge on these bikes?  Are parts hard to come by?  I bet it is a lot of fun to ride.

I have been thinking about buying that RD 400 with the TZ350 engine (the blue one for 6,995.00).  Now this has come up.

Any thoughts on which would be a better bike to own?

I ordered the red label yamalube from amazon.  I was sent the blue label yamalube.

Does anyone know if they are the same, just a new label?  I want to be sure.

Well I got my rebuilt rz350 engine back.   

The problem is that the spring and washer under the push lever were missing.  I have a new washer and spring to install, however, can't seem to pull out the push lever.  I am known to break things.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Oh, the tach drive gear wasn't installed either.  I have it, but it doesn't seem to want to go in.  Any advice on the tach gear would also be greatly appreciated.

Any idea how much it's really worth?  It looks like a fun bike!

I am breaking down a Daytona engine that sat for two plus decades.   Apparently moisture got into the cylinders.  The top of the pistons are visibly rusted.  it looks like the rust is just at the top where the rings are located.

Any ideas on how to free the pistons?

It is all about timing.  I have been to Havasu four times this past year.  Going to be near there again in July.   Never the right time.

I was hoping someone could recommend a good rotor puller for a daytona.

I tried the uppermost engine mounting bolt with an impact with no success.  I am afraid I my mess something up if I keep trying with the engine mounting bolt.

Any suggestions?

Anyone know what vendors might sale brake caliper adapters for R1 blue spot calipers. 

It is for a 1985 rz with stock rotors.  I was told that TDR racing had them.  I checked their website with no luck.

I wonder how many miles were on the old odometer?  Doesn't mention a bottom or top end rebuild. 

That is one way to reduce the miles on a motor (new speedo/odometer).

I wonder how that bike would handle?  Do not care for the headlight.  Just doesn't look right to me.

I have a 1984 rz350.  Garrett has the engine so I am going to take some time and clean the rest up.

I was wondering if anyone knew the color of black (gloss, satin, low gloss) for black parts (kick stand, center stand, handle bars, horns, triple clamp, etc.)?  Even the rims are aluminum with black trim.  Not the red or gold trim that I have seen. 

I am also going to touch up the frame a little.  Based on my research that color is Fire Red. 

Lastly, I wanted to repaint the swing arm.  Can anyone suggest the silver color to use?

So I have several complete gaskets sets for my rd's and one for my rz that I recently found.  They are still sealed, but are at least 10-15 years old. 

I was wondering if they are still good.  They look fine.  It is just the age I am concerned with.
