General Chatter / Nibbi carb
April 03, 2024, 09:18:58 PM
Mark thanks for insight on nibbi carb, I purchased a PE22 for a xr80 , works so good. Went with smaller jet for stating point and bike started on second kick. Starts most of the time without choke, so cool
Like you said workmanship looks good.

Turning Wrenches / SPEC2 and JL pipes
October 25, 2023, 04:48:04 AM
Earlier this year I purchased a set of JL pipes from John at Economy for my 75 RD, I thought I would post a side by side pic of these for comparison. The state of tune the RD being Supertune porting, mikuni TM32 heads machined by Supertune the JL feel a little crisper right off idle , however clutch started slipping and was really unable to get a real comparison of upper end pull. I will try the spec2 pipes on my R5 with 400 engine I am building now. I have replaced clutch and springs , now I am waiting for my Belray gear saver oil to show up, then another comparison run will be made.

Turning Wrenches / HPI ignition
October 05, 2023, 08:55:33 PM
I ran across a video from Allen Millyard installing a new rotor on a crank and he used lapping compound to seat the two. I was unaware of this approach, however it makes sense. I am sure some of you might be aware of this method.  I had the opportunity to weigh stock rotor and HPI rotor thought I would share the info. The total weight savings is greater due to the stock stator not being used.

The 4-Stroke Blasphemy Forum / !977 KZ650
April 15, 2023, 06:58:05 PM
I was presented with a new project eleven months ago, and it has pulled time away from my RD projects. I could not say no to it. A friend offered it up at a price that I could not say no to. The bike was destined to be altered to become an adventure bike, and I wanted to keep it a budget friendly bike that will be used as a errand runner and one that I won't mind if it gets wet.

I was going through some of the boxes in my shop and found these unused silencers. I do not recall the pipes they came with, but I have them. Anybody recognize or need them?

Haus of Projects / R5 Mashup
October 10, 2021, 09:03:42 PM
Alright, I know its ok to start another project while another is nearing completion, only because I have read about others here. So,  I have just scored is a R5 frame and swing arm, I have RD350 wheels and forks, also a RD400 engine. I need to find a tank, seat, and other bits. You guys have some input on direction of this project. I am thinking alloy rims, and follow a stock appearance.
