Hi,
a few years back I had a RD400 with a 297mm TZ brake disc. So there was an adapter for the use of the genuine RD caliper installed. Sadly the bike is long gone.
So my question is. Has anybody a drawing or a STL-file of such an adapter plate?
I would like to build a bike with such a combo.

Show Off / Yamaha RD375/3
December 17, 2023, 07:02:56 AM
Hi guys,
stumbled over an interesting RD this summer. After a bit of thinking, bike stood in the Netherlands, I decided to have a go an buy it. After a 14hrs roundtrip I had it at home......
It is a complete homebuilt. The clever guy did everything himself. Converted RD engine into a 3 cylinder. Frame is a roughly built after a Bakker twinshock TZ frame he used as an inspiration. Fairing, mudgard, tank and seat he made of alloy. Engine is only blueprinted as he used it at parades only.
Everything was fabricated and built in a 2,5m x 4m garden shed

Hi guys,
a friend of mine in the UK stumbled over a very unique bike in spring 2021. A friend of him built and developed it. It was up for sale as soon as everything will be 100%. My friend got first option to buy it for me till all is sorted. Well this worked out now last weekend. Everything is running as it should. Very fast bike and handles really well.
An all homemade monocoque frame, 6-speed YZ250 engine converted to disc-valve induction, self engineered and then casted cylinder, Astralite 18" wheels, 35mm fork, Lockheed brakes, tank and plastics homemade also. Many hours in head scratching in this bike.I am very pleased my friend found this for me.

~THE SPEED SHOP~ / Aftermarket swingarms for the RD's
December 24, 2021, 09:58:32 AM
Hi all,
I thought it would be nice to start a thread about aftermarket swingarms for the Yamaha DS7/R5/RD's.
Here a few arms I own. It would be nice if you add info of swingarms you have or know of.
First I will show you a period, german made swingarm. Out of steel and made for the 1A2/1A3 range. Company is called K+J and is still in existence and still make them by inquiry. Weights in at 4kg.
The one on the right side

The one in the middle in the first of the above pictures is a Motolanna superlite alloy one made in Thailand. Not really for a RD but easy to adapt. Weight in at 2,95kg

Here installed in a 1976 RD250 race bike of a friend of mine

The black one in the first pic above is from Webike in Japan. Made by the same company who do the Motolanna ones. Alloy also. Weight in at 2,96kg.

Here a UK made JMC alloy swingarm for an european RD/E-F and US spec Daytona one. Massive profiles with excenter. But weights only 3,2kg inclusive the rear axle.

German period made swingarm by Fischer. Normally Fischer made frame kits for japanese 4cylinder engines end of the 70tees till mid/end 80tees and swingarms for stock 4cylinder framed japanese bikes. They did only a bit more of a handfull for the RD range. Very heavy at 6,6kg. Definately one more for the look than function.

Hi guys,
got 2 new race bikes. Swapped with 2 friends for 2 of my bikes.
First one is a Uk built Hejira PE250 from around 1980/81. The PE Suzuki engine is converted to disk valve induction.

The second one is a bike I formerly owned and came now back to home. Built back in 1977 behind the iron curtain in eastern Germany. It is a copy of an Egli TZ frame. In the pics there is a TZ250 engine in it. Now equipped with a TD3 one

Hi guys,
let's start to fill the forum.
Here a few pics of my latest project.
A bike which was built back in 1981/82 in the UK and came to me to Germany in the winter 2017/18.
Bike is based on a YZ250H engine from 1981, frame a modified Honda MB5 one, fork, wheels and fairing of a Honda MT125R. Tank homemade.
Around 40hp, weight is 84,8kg.
A friend solved a few minor and bigger problems and it is now ready to race.
