THE ONE MOTORCYCLE SHOW

Hopefully I'll find enough time to keep this "story" going. Of course there will be follow up videos on your favorite YT channel after the journey.

THE ONE MOTORCYCLE SHOW

Wed, 4/17/24 and before

You got to prepare a bit for a journey.

So sell a junky old low mileage 1 ton dually diesel truck. Look at the right rear fender and you will see a scratch. It's pretty much totaled I'm sure you will agree.

And purchase a beautiful newer model ¾ ton diesel truck from a fellow BARFER

Reconfigure the 6x12 for the "new" truck.

Prep the junky old motorcycle for the show.

Load it into the 6x12.

Pick up a fellow BARFER's custom 2 stroke bike who unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances is unable to attend his favorite MC event.

Drive a few miles up I5 (or The 5 if you are from SoCal)

And arrive at my nieces house where the parking was going to be no problem. She lives on a very steep hill on an extremely narrow street. Parking is a bit of an issue and I will be unable to drop the trailer here after unloading. But amazingly only 1.5 miles distance from her house to Zidell Yards where the event is held.

Haus of Projects / RZ350 TZR 3XV Hybrid
December 09, 2023, 11:26:42 AM
First and foremost, I am in need of a non-broken front fender for the TZR250 3XV front end for this project. Please notify me if you know the whereabouts of one.

This build will be documented on your favorite YouTube channel.

Here is the playlist link if you would like more details on this project.

1985 RZ350  Original California Motorcycle

This was another abandoned project I collected some time ago. On 7/20/14.

Jumping on this project right away, I needed some silencers for those cool expansion chambers.

8/23/14 These were delivered by Frame Maker today TZMike CF Cans

And almost ten years later
12/4/23

Frame, suspension, expansion chambers, and engine rebuild/modifications were performed by Brian Turfrey about 15 years ago.

I didn't know what to expect bringing my hybrid 500 there to be amongst the "antiques". All turned out well, no fisticuffs, and I and I think everyone else there had a great time.

From Saturday. Enjoy the video.

There was some cool 2 stroke stuff there. Here is a sample. Sadly did not take a close up photo of the blue 77 RD400 but it's in the video.

Not much 2 stroke content here since my bike was probably the only one.

But some may enjoy the video.

Thanks to the folks that put this on. Not really knowing WTF it was about I participated up to 84 and Pleasanton Sunol Road. Next year I'll bring a more comfortable ride and do the whole thing. It's a massive humongous thing which makes it quite interesting. Had a great time during the time I was in.

Here's a video on the bit I rode.

Events / 30th Pacific Coast Dream Machines Show
April 26, 2023, 08:42:27 AM
This Sunday, 4/30/23. I bring 3 motorcycles to this event. 2 skipped COVID years then last year something about an alfalfa field needing to be harvested. This year I'm bringing the 500, the newly completed 350, the third either the R1 or another 350. This is from the last one they had in 2019.

From their website

It's quite simply the "Coolest Show on Earth". This year's spectacular show will be held on Sunday, April 30, a one-day mega-show, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Half Moon Bay Airport's Eddie Andreini Field, located in the picturesque seaside town of Half Moon Bay, California, about 20 miles south of San Francisco.

The show is a whimsical, fascinating, amusing, curious and absolutely unique show-and-tell spectacle featuring some 2,000 magnificent driving, flying and working machines from the 20th and 21st centuries.

The world's coolest cars of every era and style, Model-T fire engines, vintage busses, custom motorcycles, tricked-out trucks, sleek streamliners, one-of-a-kind antique engines and tractors, and historic military aircraft will be among the mesmerizing displays.

General Chatter / US Model RZ350 Windscreens
February 21, 2023, 02:59:52 PM
I had rather devastating accident while putting the finishing restoration touches using my buffer on what was going to be a beautiful (unobtanium) original 1984 RZ350 windscreen. It's no longer in one piece.  :bang:

I am looking for some feedback on purchasing and fitment of replacement windscreens on #2, 3, 4, and 5 below. Do they fit? Does the rubber trim fit on them? Anything else?

1. A long shot for sure but does anybody have a decent one for sale?

2. Zero Gravity Windscreen  Economy Cycle sells this. This would be about $130 shipped.

3. The China ones on eBay. This would be about $40 shipped but more than likely crap.

4. Norbo sells them. As anybody tried his product?

5. This seller on eBay says   BEWARE OF CHEAP CRAPPY SCREENS MADE IN CHINA. THEY JUST DON'T FIT RIGHT!  I just contacted him through eBay asking him where they are manufactured. This would be about $120 shipped. Sorry for the long link if it doesn't shorten up.

General Chatter / Christmas 2022 & New Year 2023

Best wishes to all for a great Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Lots of new toys under the tree and a Covid free 2023.

My Christmas card for this year...

And I utilized 100% of my total lack of musical abilities to make this music video.

Turning Wrenches / Restoring faded red switches
November 19, 2022, 10:44:35 AM
Does anybody have a solution for restoring the finish on the faded red switches?

I'm kind of hoping for a chemical restoration process. The sanding and other methods I've tried so far are going to take much too long.

Other than that I am ready for reassembly.

The brass vent port on the right side carb on California specific carbs had a pipe that ran somewhere??? Either to the smog cannister mounted by the radiator shroud or to the bottom of the fuel tank where there is another vent. I'll be using these carbs on my current build.

What do you do with this vent port when not using it? Can it be capped off or does it need to keep "venting"?

Found an old photo but still don't know where the other end terminates.

Does anyone know the part number for this thing for RZ350?

It's the fuel selector internal gasket(?).

I'll bet it's used in other petcocks. I need a few of them.

Thanks.
