pull  the clutch cover something def went awry.  its probanly in there, possibly might need to pull the couch basket to see whats going on but id bet you don't have to split cases

i would bet you could use 350 aircooled headpipes with the stock mufflers and probably use the repro 359 baffles in there

cant speak to the e models but the 75 and back 250/350 exhaust interchange with the only diff being the baffle.  they sell reproduction (and better flowing) 350 baffles that slide right in

I don't get why you would use bigger tires when it doesn't really put any more rubber on the road, maybe less the way it fits on a rim that isn't very wide. They certainly don't heat up like a smaller tire would and heat sure helps with grip. 

its minimal but yes, technically its less contact area. this can be rectified with tire pressure but 99% of people won't benefit or be hindered because if it. however, you can def feel it, imho due to weight differences and OD. also, all 100 90 18s are not the exact same size, etc. there are variances between makers

stator or rotor probably is done.  even if it tests well cold, it can fail when warm. has probably been slow failing and reconnecting the ground just finished it off. thats my guess

depending on the tire the mounting bolts can interfere. 

its a fun phrnomenon when it backfires. my kz w a dyna does it on rare occasion when I turn it off

bee leery of crank seals etc. they can be replaced w out splitting cases.

redo it with just 2 pcs of solder crossed as an x. 4 sperate pcs may have shifted.

as far as doweling, the tried and true way is 2 small dowels one fore and after of the bore thru the head gasket. however, on a relatively stock bike its an nth degree that really doesn't matter.

yes that's actually normal. when the voltage source is cut the field collapses and it will discharge. with points its thru the capacitor. w out,  it can spark

unless it wast cut flat or measured wrong, no. 1 pc of solder for each leg of the x evens the load out on the piston  .

it won't contact unless something breaks... as long as the squish is measured ok. id def aim for .9-1.1. check squish with an x cross of solder.
