@yamanatic I saw your post over on WERA forum. That's a smokin' (pun intended) deal for someone. If you don't get any decent bites I would recommend BaT. I sold my 1996 RGV250SP on BaT a couple of months back. A much more informed audience than the time-wasters/tire-kickers you can come across on eBay/CL. GLWS  :olaf:

Perfect frame painting day yesterday here in NC! Nice & warm, low humidity and no pollen.

Not mine, but I have spoken to the seller about it. I was somewhat interested but it's just too far away from me. Told him I would spread the word.

General Chatter / Re: Vapor blasting

I had my RD250 crankcase, covers, cylinders & heads vapor blasted and I was very happy with the way they turned out. See post #13 in this thread for some before/after pictures:

Inspirational! :notworthy:
I recently picked up this sleeping beauty (1979 KZ650B) and now trying to decide what to do with it. It had been sitting outside for a few years but I got it running again. Motor sounds sweet and good consistent compression on all 4. Frame has been de-tabbed and modified for the (terrible) cafe racer it was turned into. Wiring looks like a complete (and very rudimentary) re-do. Would be a stretch (financially) to get it back to anywhere near stock so trying to decide what to do with it. This is one of three projects I have on the go so I would let it go as-is to a new home if anyone interested (MinSC: fancy doing another one?). All ideas/suggestions welcome!

Looks very nicely done. One of these was sold on BaT last month for $12,250:

SOLD today for $10K! Thanks to @busa1300 and any others who chimed in to the BaT auction with supportive comments.

Quote from: busa1300 on December 02, 2023, 07:35:50 PMI wish mine was the blue version instead of the pink/purple.

What's the reason for letting it go?
Unavailability of parts, no time to ride...?

She's probably the most fun bike I've ever ridden but I'm a bit constrained for space and I like to change things up every few years. Was a tough decision but the herd needs thinning and I'm also ageing out of sport bike mode!

This is mine. Please help spread the word! Also happy to answer any questions you may have.

Looks nice, clean & original. Not mine, but I did own one back in the early 70's in Dublin so I have a nostalgic soft spot for them.

Not mine, but looks in great shape. Is that front brake correct for this year/model? I thought the 1974 RD250 had a disc.

I'm a Yamaha guy 100% but I have the good fortune to have a brother who is a Kawi Triple fanatic so I get to ride his bikes with none of the "housekeeping". He has a 1972 H2 and a KH400 resto-mod. The 400 is by far my favorite. On the plus side there is nothing quite like the sound of those triples on the gas.

I'm so bummed I missed this by a couple of days:(
If anyone knows of or comes across a Twinjet or YAS1 project I'm interested!
