GRA2STROKES / Gra2strokes is now full time!
July 20, 2021, 04:27:42 PM
I'm officially full time now for Gra2strokes!! I'm very excited on this adventure for my business and for my family.

I have been doing business on the side for 8 years  now restoring RD's and RZ's. I've grown my business beyond doing it on the side now and I'm passionate about offering my services to the community. I'm also excited to announce I have a great mid size cnc vertical mill coming in the door late this week or early next week to better serve my customers and there needs. If you have any prototype parts you want made I hope I can be a viable option for you. I will be working on a new rear set design as well as many other parts.

Along with the cnc mill I will soon be making new pipes for more custom designs and applications.

Currently I offer cl

Crank rebuilding
Cylinder boring
Head machine work
Porting
Millennium gp pipes
Restoration services
Vapor blasting
Tig welding services.

If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to me and I hope I can assist you with your project.

General Chatter / Re: how do dowel head?
December 14, 2020, 03:17:15 PM
When I do this modification I bore my cylinders first then put them in the mill find center of the bore then put the dowel pins and o ring in. I then fixture the heads in the mill find the spark plug and machine the heads with a cnc mill and dowel pin. This allows me to machine Daytona heads and not cut them in half as well both heads being perfectly the same.

Check out my sight for pictures.

Nice job....How modified is your porting? Is it pulling hard in the 7-10K range? What rpm are you shifting at? You think you can get more HP out of it?

I ported his engine and cut his heads. We are working on this in stages. This is just the first stage. I started off with a little to much intake timing on this setup but can easily be corrected with less of a window cutout on the piston. We will develop this engine over the season.

He also just got a set of scratch and dent pipes from me to get some feedback to me over his spec 2 classics.

Are the side exit pipes available as well??

Thank you!

I have had numerous people ask about this. I have decided not to make them. Reason being is every picture you see off them they hang out the right side of the bike probably 5 inches. I've worked in 2 bike in the past that had them and the other thing you don't see is the left pipe was completely smashed in to get it to exit out the right side as well. Not worth it guys. Unless you only turn left.

This has been a great project and will be a continuous effort to study different effect and gains. We started off with a very mild port job actually. Naturally there will be many gains just by removing bad miss matches. On the transfer the miss match was so terrible it actually barley blended at the desired height I set.

I have another set I will be much more aggressive on and of course my pipes will be going on as well. That's the next immediate step.

I honestly think they will fit an rz just as well as the mounting points are so identical you will not be able to use the belly pan though. I do have an rz so it will be nice to fit them. It was nice not having to cut and twist them.

Yes that's the wife in the background checking quality control.
It's been a pleasure working on this bike. Yamaha did a fantastic job with the kickstand!

I've ran pro x in every engine I've built over the past few years. Probably around65-70. For almost all street riding it should be just fine to run them.

I ported pdx Jim's Matt track racer rd350 and they had an old version of my pipes and they were very pleased with it. It was ran in a 6 hour endurance race and motor is still tight. You can ask him for first hand info as well.

did  anyone  get  theirs  yet

interested  in getting  the real  world  feedback

A somewhat biased opinion possibly is my dad. He tuned the 350 pictures in this thread. He has never ridden a bike with these pipes. The build is all fresh on a completely Stock rebuild. He was surprised how broad the power band was and how it started to pull at 5,500 to 9,500.

Here is a customer review

Garrett,

The pipes are incredible. Excellent work sir, I am more than pleased!

Thank you,

He had a 350 with original mc pipes. But again it's a project so no performance feedback.

I've shipped several sets so far and honestly no real fees back. Most are for projects so far.

All pipes made by me are mounted on frames with no tabs. There is more room on a 350 so pickle you could get away with not removing them on a 350 or 250 as the exhaust port sits much lower than compared to a 400.
