The owner of a local cycle shop gave me a great tip.  Put automotive grease around the lip of the tire.  That helps a lot - more than soapy water, armor all etc.

If needed, I will inflate the tire up to 100 psi, carefully to pop the bead out.  I might inflate and deflate it 5 times. If the tire is not defective it's possible to get the bead seated properly.

Ken Brumm is the guy who used to sell the aluminum swingarms for Kawasaki triples, RD's etc.  I bought two swingarms from him over the years.

Mr. Bassani I have several sets of your pipes!  Used to have a 4 into 1 for a KZ1000, new in the box and sold it to a friend.

Affordable and only takes a small space.

Looks good for the price! I'm done buying motorcycles, too many projects and not enough time to finish them all.

Quote from: m in sc on February 10, 2024, 05:45:54 PMi usually use mine to remove any risk of bending a rod, i have one of those it works great.  :twocents:
I once bent a rod forcing a piston pin.  Didn't realize it until I slid the cylinders on and there was too much friction on the side of the cylinder. That required a new rod and a crank rebuild. Buy a piston pin puller.

Yes thanks Tom Heininger!

But for which bike?  RZ or RD is a big difference.

How about we call this an "Accelerated Course" instead of a "Crash Course"?

Why does Yamaha dislike the Marquez brothers?
