Working on the theory that if your bike is a deathtrap POS and you add new shiny bits, it will at some point cease being a deathtrap POS and become a nice machine?

At least by popular consensus since there's no real rating system.

Asking for a friend.

willie send me a pm and let me know what you are asking. i have already replaced the tires and upgraded sprockets and 530 chain conversion on mine. had a friend that had a NOS stainless kerker hanging in his attic for over 40 years. and trashed the oil cooler as it was a piece of shiite !!

dang tnwillie!!  wish i would have waited for yours.  i just bought a 1982 gs1100e from a guy in Kingsport last week. the price was pretty good, but the front sprocket was toast and a few minor paint imperfections. it is going to be a spare to ride since my son in laws don't own bikes but like to ride. My wife said that was my last one. i told her the bikes are cheaper than a divorce!!  :olaf: :olaf:

I didn't get a chance to make it tonight. I drove up to Kingsport to pick up a new edition to my bike stable. 1982 Suzuki gs1100e. Too nice to pass up at the asking price. Let me know how the new venue and turn out went?? Not to mention it was 98 degrees today!! :bacon: :bacon:

I'm disappointed i never got a chance to meet you guys at the time warp. maybe i can meet you guys at the new venue. keep me posted on when the next gathering is. i would be riding from Maryville, so i would probably ride the Z-1 since it's the most reliable. lolol  the rz seems to get me in trouble as well!!

True: Yamaha no longer sells the powevalve spools, but aftermarket are available, and used ones are still out there. Worst case scenario, they wouldn't be too difficult to turn on a lathe. He probably just chose the path of least resistance.
i found all new seals bushings and coupler from yamabits. reasonably priced also!!  bought extras just in case

Congrats, and I hope the marriage is even better than the wedding. I paid 8.5% on a VA loan in the 70s, the house sold in the late 70s when the rates on VA and FHA hovered around 14.5%. Bought land with cash from the sale and built on credit union and family loans, then a second house on more credit union loans that we paid off in 2000. SMALL apartments in Knoxville are going for $1600 a month. So much better to pay for your own home than make someone else's payment!
I have 3 rental houses in Maryville. I'm bombarded by phone calls all day long about availability and if they are for sale. 95% of the callers are from the left coast!! commonly referred to as California. Buyers are offering almost double the value.  :umm: :umm:

General Chatter / Re: RZ350 Coolant
June 01, 2022, 02:25:23 PM
i use any of the coolant made for import cars. never had any coolant issues and its made for aluminum engines so it wont corrode.  im sure other guys may have experience with different types. maybe they will chime in !!!
