Turning Wrenches / Rd400 rear brake sensor
June 29, 2021, 11:55:53 PM
Hi guys

So iam looking at diagram the Best i can but Cant seem to see where i have done wrong.

Can anyone tell me Which colour wiring the 2 wires from the rear brake sensor, goes in to?
As well as tail light

Because i can get rear light to work and the front brake light but not the rear brake ( only made rear brake light work by trial and error and then the tail light did not work)

Would be Very nice to have this done as Its the only thing not working

So there is only 2 wires under the seat that goes to the tail, that are power in as now.
The yellow has when i acticatw the front brake and the Brown next to it, is constant 12 v when ignition is on.

And in the headlight it seems as if i have connected the front brake right. One wire to yellow/green ( this ends up yellow in the back) and one wire to oil lamp i believe it is?

So iam blowing fuses by trial and error on the few remanining wires in the rear 3ne or the bike.

Just Cant seem to hack the config of tail light on and rear brake switch activation.

Its either rear light on, front brake light works
Or rear light off, rear brake light work

And because iam figuring out my wiring harness, can anyone tell me what click with the key does turn what on?
I believe you can turn the key 3 times to the right.

So got the bike back up running, it appears to shift nicely. Only did until 3 gear, no gear on so gotta take it slow
Will do proper test tomorrow i Hope. When i got back it leasked heacily out of the seal where the push rod for clutch goes..
I Hope this can be changed without Taking cases apart. It does not sit in Any reces that i know

I did!.
Everything looks fine but the lock washer that was used was to big, so it did not hold for long.
That problem is solved now with new shim and correct lock washer.

I Will try to add clutch or pipe to tighten the clutch drive in so when shifting it Will be more like normal condition. Fingers crossed it Will be even better

I have done just that and it shifts but not as consistent as I would want it to. And sometimes 1 and 2 gear can be difficult.
Other times it shifts pretty solid.

Not good enough for assemble, it needs to be right.

Oh well moved on and put gears in, tried a different drum and it shifts but not consistent.
Espcially 1 and 2 gear can be tricky at times...

And would a chemical cleaning of the gears do Them good? Just thought maybe it would shift easier, move Between the gears easier?

I need a new gearbox 😂
