I haven't gotten any disparaging comments while out on my RD350.  It consistently draws attention at gas stations, grocery stores and on the road.

I've been with Dairyland since 1984, 350 per year for full coverage on my '84 BMW R100RS, liability only on the '91 BMW K75S and '74 RD350.   I've had two claims, both handled perfectly.

I used POR-15 when the OE coating started peeling on my old BMW, worked great, but as thick as it is, not sure about using it on my RD with the crossovers.

I've ridden since 1967, and had to fix flats on the roadside on pretty much everything I've owned.  I've never had a bike without a center stand and I'm planning to fit chambers to my RD350.
Spoked rims with tubes obviously can't just be plugged and limped home, so, three questions:

1. Anyone make chambers compatible with the center stand?

2. Any practical suggestions on how to do the roadside repair without one?

3. Any chance of Slime working in a tube?

Thanks!

Economy Cycle is close, and my preferred supplier.  I'm rebuilding my '74 RD350, it'll be mostly stock but with YZ125 reeds, mild porting, the Economy Y-boot filter kit, and crossover manifold without boost bottle.  I'm undecided on chambers.

Likely will need barrels bored, so, do I want ProX, Vertex or Wiseco pistons for this build, and why?

And, Economy is only a short drive for me, I'm always welcomed and get incredible advice and customer service.

Economy Cycle / Re: Wiring Harnesses - Input needed

Re: Old Beemers, I've got an '84 R100RS that I'm either gonna have to splice in new stuff around the engine where the insulation has badly hardened or replace the whole harness.  I haven't researched to see what's out there already, though, but i love options...

Might try a good RTV sealant.

Haulbikes was great when they delivered my RD from South Dakota to Texas, $480 as I recall.

I talked to John at Economy with some questions about fitting larger carbs to my RD350 a couple of years ago.  He said the same thing about performance potential from the OE carbs and told me unless I was planning to race, properly tuned OE carbs were sufficient.  He also pointed out the issue on oil injection and having two choke levers, one per carb.

Ok, where do I find the #2 & #3 JIS screw bits?

Moved my '74 RD350 inside, from the deck to the garage, to begin full disassembly to restore.  Now to start my Economy Cycle parts list.  It's wonderful to have John's shop 20 minutes away...

And if there's any way to produce one for RD350s that allows retention of the centerstand, I'll definitely take one.
