Race Discussions / Re: Suzuki bailing from GP?

This is super shitty.
The only fun thing about it is Silly Season Speculation.
So, I'll go first:
Mir to Repsol where he'll either push Marc out or his career will die like everyone else's who's had the 2nd seat at Honda since the Marquez era.
Rins to Aprilia Factory, taking Mav's seat.
Maverick to Aprilia Satellite Squad. Or maybe WSBK where he'll continue to win testing and few other events.
Maybe Pol ends up as his teammate?
Or...?
Your turn Russ lol

Which tires are you running on that beautiful girl?
Planning on some track days on my 400 soon and can't find Avons anywhere...
Thanks

Race Discussions / Re: 2022 MotoGP

This season is bonkers, so far. Aleix leads the championship? Pecco scoring points in only 1 race so far? Alex Rins hasn't crashed out of a race, yet? Will Marc dominate? Will Marc launch himself into orbit, again? It's wild lol. Very entertaining.
Who do you got for the podium at COTA, Russ?

1-Joan Mir
2-Pecco
3-Fabio Quartararo

Maybe after Aleix's win, Pol will get his shit together?

I bought a 17mm Brembo RCS  for my track bike and decided I needed a 19mm. So I kept the 17mm RCS and mounted it to the RD. I'm running a single "Gold Dot" Yamaha caliper and FZR disc. You can adjust the piston stroke to give more power/feel. It might be overkill but it sure stops well now. Previously had a Mike's XS "Slimline" MC and honestly, it was crap. Radial is the way to go imo.

General Chatter / Re: Rotary

Crighton rotary or Suter MMX? Obviously we're all biased towards the Suter here but, that'd be a tough choice in real life. Too bad it's a decision I'll never have to make haha.

Economy Cycle / Re: Economy Cycle Help Needed

John, you called me on a day off (yours) to tell me I had ordered an incorrect part and then after explaining the situation thoroughly, you recommended a solution that reduced your profit on the order. I am more than happy to genuinely provide a positive review of my experiences with yourself and your business.
Thank you for continuing to support the scene and provide us with the things that we need to keep these old bikes alive.

Something like this. A friend went to both sessions and he had really good things to say about the experiences.

Really cool bikes but dang are they expensive. Even if you found a "project" bike the cost of parts is out of my budget. I'd like to ride one for the experience but don't see myself ever owning one. Cool piece of 2T history.

I'm hopelessly addicted to the track currently.>

A few months ago, a left the hot pit a bit after everyone. Sears Point/Infineon/Sonoma raceway. Anyway, about 1/2 way through my 3rd lap, I get a real familiar smell in the helmet. "That's castor oil!" So I twist it a bit more and caught up to a guy just flogging the hell out of his RD350. I think his name was Stuart(?). Cool guy and a neat bike. It was nice shooting the shit with him for a minute between sessions.

"specifications are comparable to rival cars"

Rival cars? This is mentioned twice. I don't know what it means...

One would assume this is a competitor/rival to the Suzuki Gamma 250 and Yamaha TDR 250. A good bike but too small for me.

I'd imagine it's probably a mistranslation is all 🤷🏻‍♂️

General Chatter / Re: Oem vs restomod?

I think you need to consider the condition of the platform before starting the project. My 400 was modified by the PO in such a way that a true "Resto" was impossible. Frame de-tabbed (hacked is a more appropriate term lol), etc.

Good looking bikes. I wonder how it compares, performance wise, against the new 660 Tuono? One of the guys at the track recently has a new 660 and it's a really cool bike. The R7 will definitely spice up the Middleweight Twins class.

Just listened to Powerslave today on the way in to work...never question Bruce Dickenson!

I can't believe Maiden was excluded from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, again, but Carole King and the F'n Go-Go's are in? Unbelievable...
