Looks nice, clean & original. Not mine, but I did own one back in the early 70's in Dublin so I have a nostalgic soft spot for them.

Not mine, but looks in great shape. Is that front brake correct for this year/model? I thought the 1974 RD250 had a disc.

I'm a Yamaha guy 100% but I have the good fortune to have a brother who is a Kawi Triple fanatic so I get to ride his bikes with none of the "housekeeping". He has a 1972 H2 and a KH400 resto-mod. The 400 is by far my favorite. On the plus side there is nothing quite like the sound of those triples on the gas.

I'm so bummed I missed this by a couple of days:(
If anyone knows of or comes across a Twinjet or YAS1 project I'm interested!

Not mine but I wish it was! I just left CO this week to return to NC.

Haus of Projects / Re: Yamaha SRX/RD Hybrid

It's been a while since last update and not a lot to report. The project is stripped down and next step will be cleanup and prep for painting. I retired end of June and I'm in CO for the summer so will get back into it in the Fall. Meanwhile I did a trip back to the homeland (Ireland) in April and rode the south west area with my brother and some friends. Remarkably we had no rain the entire week. A highlight of the trip was meeting up with Forum Member @elliotles1 in Glengarriff. Stay tuned!

They look so nice it would be a shame to paint them! When the clear coat starts to go break out the Mop n' Glow (I should have been a poet)

My dream bike....a 450cc triple?

That's a hell of a good price for one of those. Good ones usually trade up around 10-12K. I have ridden one (a friend owns it) and it's super fun. Very lightweight and razor-sharp handling. Would be brilliant at the track. Uses the Suzuki RGV250 90 degree v-twin motor (kick-start only) and it's is a little more tingly than my RGV250SP which has the later 70 degree v-twin. Parts are fairly easily obtainable and AF1 Racing in TX is the go-to source for parts and knowledge.

Turning Wrenches / Re: Frame painting

I've had a few frames powder coated in the past and no doubt it's a great finish. However in my experience powder coating is way more expensive than paint. Also nothing came out of the factory powder coated so in retrospect I don't really see the value-add. I'm open to being convinced though.

Race Discussions / Re: 2023 World SBK Schedule

Thanks for that info SoCal250! I watched the tail end of World SBK the year before last when Toprak was crowned champion. To me it felt more real-life than MotoGP. Might have been my imagination but the cameras seemed to get closer up to the bikes on track. I still enjoy MotoGP but World SBK is also exciting.
