Yeah... I'm just too old for all those colors. For me, it would be amazing with a more, ah, traditional? color scheme. I try not to wreck on other people's stuff, but with all the ambitious engineering on that ride, the OEM plastic coolant recovery tank stands out to me like a diamond in a goat's ass. HELL of an effort.

I have a set of Toomeys and a set of DGs, each for the RZ350, and there are some design similarities bu they are not the same. Can't comment on the FPPs other than what I' seen in pictures, but they appear similar to the other two...with differences.

:agree: :agree: gentlemen: kudos to you both! You have taken actions to make the world a better place.

Well, it bothers me that so many cool (to me) bikes are languishing under a tarp instead of being ridden. If the totes are full of goodies and not junk then they, too, should be put to use. These are not significant cultural museum pieces, they're motorcycles and bring more joy when ridden than when hidden under wraps.  :rant-1:

I thought maybe a crank rebuild and a couple of cylinders bored...and SWOOP! My darling bride earmarked it for tuition (she's going to get a master's degree in teaching so she can make more $$ and support me in the manner to which I hope to become accustomed).

:jacked: besides grandpa's 340 there are, shall we say, a couple others on the property. I've done some reading about the slant 6, and it's an interesting engine in all it's iterations. "My" Duster has a 198 and a 3 on the tree, but if I ever find time, I'd like to transplant a 225 with a split exhaust manifold, just for the glorious sound. Found a 2-barrel intake manifold in a truck, and there's a 225 out back getting closer to earth with each passing day. If I could just figure out how to eliminate my need for sleep...

I am the curator of my wife's grandfather's '71 340 Duster. He was the 2nd owner and drove it until the mid-1990s, when he pickled it and put it up on jack stands. My bride and I re-habbed it a few years ago as a surprise for her mom. All I have to do is a little maintenance, keep good gas in the tank and I get to drive it.
