irk_miller, you lived in New Baltimore? Ha, I'm 15 minutes from there if that. Matter of fact, one of my favorite spots in the summer is the New Baltimore beach. I also used to duck hunt the grass islands off Ruedisale road when you could still walk out to them in waders... Water level is so high now you'd drown lol. My brother lives in Chesterfield.

The truck is from a dealer in Clare, MI originally and lived up north its whole life. I think it avoided most of the salt destruction since they use sand on the roads up there. I think it needs a trans rebuild for sure. Has a 2-3 shift flare if on the gas at all. I just drive it like a Grandpa and will get it addressed in the spring most likely.

I saw Nova had full transmission sets as well, but holy chit $2300 for a whole trans is a lot. Looks like an engine teardown is in the works...  :bang:

I had a 2009 Silverado that shit the transmission out of it about 140k, then around 185k one of those Displacement on Demand lifters decided to fuck off in BLOHIO of all places... Finally, I had a 2019 for about a year which got sold to buy our house, but not before the water pump left it at 42k.

Basically, I got sick of dealing with the new shit that costs an arm, leg, and left nut to fix or buy. So, I hopped on Marketplace and this truck popped up for $10k.

It's a 1994 Silverado with the flat tappet TBI 350 with 107k on the ODO, 4x4 on the floor, and everything in great working condition (multiple fluid leaks that are slowly being addressed, potential trans rebuild too, but I don't care). How'd I do?

What Dennis said. Keep in mind, it depends on what shipper you end up with and how careful the driver is when handling things. U-Ship is a bidding website and it allows multiple companies to claim a shipping job. So, it's hard to pinpoint who will actually be shipping it. I've heard about big rigs picking up crated bikes and then getting them delivered 2 weeks later. They drop multiple vehicles off and can only get down certain roads, or meet in larger areas (parking lots, etc).

Turning Wrenches / GT750 Howl/Whine in 4th and 5th Gears

One of the last rides I took my bike on this late summer I whipped down the freeway for about 15 miles, then got off and was cruising about 50-60 mph. I noticed the bike was making a loud howling noise that changed with the speed of the bike. However, at stop lights the engine sounded fine, no noises. So, has to be gearbox. Bike goes down the road fine. No weird chattering or anything feeling amiss.

I mean the howling was loud over the wind noise, etc. It didn't appear to be there in 1st-3rd. Only 4th and 5th. Anyone have an experience with Suzuki gearboxes sounding so loud (M in SC, Teazer)?

I love my RD for around town hooning and ripping light-to-light and I love my GT750 for going any sort of distance/freeway riding.

The next bike will be an RZ if I can get one. (Dennis?) :)

I'll take another shirt for sure.

Shit, I'd have to sell something. I could sell the RD and do an RZ...
#28
Buy it and sell it to me lol.

That's a 4 hour drive for me. I'd go, but will be too busy next week to make that happen.
