If you buy washers from the hardware store, compare their thicknesses to make sure they match.

Pretty sure this is still his number 747-257-5129
Yes that is Gary's phone number.  He's hard to get ahold of and always backlogged. I've been waiting for around 9 months for a set from him.

Looks like a fair deal but no title!  Can you get it titled in CA?

Nice rearsets!  I see you make exhaust flanges too.  If you make 2-stroke flanges I may have an order for you.  Trying to get a set welded up for some Bassani pipes. Hard to find the parts and an interested welder.

Great meet!  I am usually the only two stroke rider at Bikes & Coffee.  I sold an RD400 recently, hopefully the new owner will ride with us and DOUBLE the number of two strokes at the next Bikes & Coffee.

I bent a conrod once, pushing too hard on the piston pin to get it out. I had the crank was rebuilt to fix the problem. Use a piston pin puller to remove stuck piston pins.

I don't know if that was the cause of your problem.

Nice!

If the bodywork is original, I believe it's a 1976 model. 1977 models had locking covers over the gas cap.

I had a 1975 CB400.  I bought a Yoshimura big bore kit, I think the displacement was 455cc, along with a Yoshimura cam.  Kerker exhaust.  The bike was fast for a 400!  Faster than a built RD400?  Maybe not, I didn't drag race it.

Yeah I wonder if it has overhead valves?

Is this an ugly paint contest?

I wondered "what is a lever bellows." Thanks for expanding my mind.
