Quote from: 2 Smoker on April 28, 2024, 11:53:56 AMThat is so cool, I personally have not seen a two stroke on the streets in a long while
I was a little bizarre, not only because you don't see 2-strokes around much, but because I was sitting on a '75 RD125 and taking a pic of another '75 RD125. :hifive:

The only person I've ever heard mention it is Rich (racerclam on this forum)

General Chatter / Sighted in Seal Beach - RD125
April 27, 2024, 10:52:18 PM
I was out on a 30-mile ride on the RD125 today and rode by this parked in downtown Seal Beach. It was a little bizarre, sitting on a RD125 and taking a photo of another RD125.  :jaw:  You certainly don't see many of these around so I thought it must belong to a guy I know who said he traded for one recently that was given to a friend as part of an estate sale. I messaged him and sure enough he said it's his. It only has about 2500 miles, but wasn't running when he got it. He just got it running again.

It doesn't look so hot now but I'm guessing that it will be immaculate sometime soon. He has a RD200B with chromed Higgspeed chambers that is amazing. As for the front wheel looking so much better than the rest of the bike...he said when he got it, it had the wrong front rim on it, so he built a new one with re-zinced spokes.

If you refer to the Mark Haase edition of the instructions you did that step correctly. :affirmation:

Quote from: Hemi on April 25, 2024, 01:48:52 PMMy original '77 back in the day was a D model.
In Canada, the E's arrived the tail end of '77.

Correct, 77 model year is a D and 78 model year is an E.
In North America each model year is manufactured in the end of the previous year, usually between August and about November or December. So, the RD400C models were manufactured at the end of 1975, RD400Ds were made at the end of 1976, and so on. And a'78 model for example would be made between about August and November of 1977.
The US model RD400F 2V0 was manufactured a little later than normal (November 78 through January 79), likely due to the EPA certification and regulatory items that model had to go through, but I'm not 100% sure why the build dates for the US Daytona are later than other models.

To my knowledge all North American '78 models were Crystal Silver.

Quote from: SoCal250 on April 06, 2024, 03:54:57 PMYamaha is now reportedly pursuing adding a satellite team, something they desperately need to keep pace with other brands. There's just not enough data collected and shared with only 2 bikes on the grid.
Latest rumor is that Pramac is considering a switch to Yamaha. VR46 has already turned down Yamaha.

I had a hell of a time finding a shop that could go under 40mm.

Micro Muscle: Under 100cc's / Annual 2-stroke ride
April 22, 2024, 07:18:00 PM
Today I made it out for my annual Earth Day 2-stroke ride. Met a friend for breakfast in Newport Beach and then rode through Huntington Beach and Seal Beach. It was a little cool and foggy with some drizzle.

Stop for breakfast in Newport Harbor.

 bummer! Sorry to hear the news Tim, but like you said it's better to happen near home than on a trip in another state.

Quote from: kpke on April 21, 2024, 10:34:02 AMAnd a few seconds later, holy smokes, they moved Julians bike just left of center in a really cool spot. I was thrilled to see it out of the previous spot. Sent Julain a text right away.

After that excitement wore off and a few seconds more walking, holy smokes again, they moved the 500 front and center about 50 feet into the building. Yes, I was elated.

Looks like a great show. Thanks for sharing your photos and story.
Congrats on the revised placement!  :cheerleader:
