This bike was sold at the recent Mecum auction in Vegas last month for $11K. So this dealer on CL is apparently trying to flip it.

Info from the auction listing. Note that the numbers don't match -- it's a '76 frame with a '77 engine. I like how they list it as a 5-speed  :o

General Chatter / Mecum Vegas Auction 2019
February 11, 2019, 05:54:03 PM
Did any of you catch the Mecum Motorcycle Auction from Las Vegas on NBCSN? I still have 1 more recorded episode to get through. Some pretty expensive bikes! Top seller was a '39 Crocker that hammered for $704K!

Quite a few cool 2-strokes as well. An RG500 WW went for $34.1K, a '76 RD400C for $12.1K, a '85 RZ500 for $28.6K, 'a 85 RD500L for $17.6K, a '74 TA125 for $8.8K, and a bunch of others that were well over my budget. Quite a few Kawa triples sold too -- some really nice H2s and H1s.

I saw a couple bikes in the results that looked familiar and may have been owned by members of the old 2SW site. There was a Yamaha CT1 cafe bike and a custom blue RD350 with chrome chambers that both looked like I had seen them somewhere before.

(not mine)
Claims it is an 'untouched true survivor" 1978 but it has mismatched '76 body work and it's missing the seat cowl and seat side trim. At least it has a correct serial number for a '78.
Judging by the dents in the gauge bezels it's had a pretty good front end shot too.

Buy It Now Price:  US $5,295.00
