Does Tim Potts still work there?  He worked in Oscoda Mi. doing the conversions from Passenger to freight.
Nice guy and smart.   We used to race karts and he did likewise.

I've raced Nelson Ledges,  Have fun and yes, the cheapest way to go faster is losing weight.

It is fun, nice and light, nimble, makes the right noises.  I built it for my Brother, I'll deliver it this week.  The old DT bikes of the '70s make a pretty good platform for this type of conversion because Yamaha (and others) didn't yet know how to build a purpose built dirt bike.  I did brace the frame just a bit to help with the added traction of the Avons on pavement.  Geometry is right on for what it is.  I have an RT 360 motor that is a bolt in for this chassis and I'll build that motor over the winter for next season, 250 is good for now.  I have three others that I'm working on same basic idea.

DTR-250 I added the R for road.  Converted DT Enduro to a road bike, engine/trans rebuilt, mild porting, VM38 Mikuni, Jemco pipe ceramic coated, powder coated frame, RD400 forks/triple clamps with Race Tech emulators and springs.  Alcantara covered seat, '74 RD350 Ruby Red w/Honda silver/grey fenders. front brake is FZR600 rotor with R6 caliper, Galfer SS line new M/C & levers.  Rear drum brake is 'arced', LED 12v lighting.  The finished bike weighs 262# (one gallon of gas) front =124 47.4%  rear = 138 52.7% rake = 25.5*, wheelbase =53.25"

Quick note, gussets are usually placed on the 'side' of the tubes, so as not to cause a stress riser, two cents.

French Roast (from Henry's House of Coffee in San Fran / whole beans) made in a French press for 35 years.  Never fails, perfect every morning, I'm lucky we have very good water here in Michigan.  I keep the press parts  clean with my ultra-sonic cleaner.  Some day I'll bite the $$ bullet for a Pavoni Lever machine, the gold standard for Espresso.

  Edit; Merry Christmas.

12/13 degrees is common for modern sportbikes.  On vintage if I get 8 degrees I'm happy.

I had a body shop friend pull a big dent from my current project gas tank with the spot welded "nails" worked so well it was funny 10 min tops.

Good, just good to at least have the races.  It feels as if most of life has been cancelled?

I think my favorite part is the tail section, has a unique look to it.  Well done indeed.  Did you ever get some weight numbers, also front rear wt. distribution?

Yes, I was a little worried too and was going to make a second bolt somehow/where..  the fender is actually quite thick and so are the mounts.  It's strong as hell and I don't see an issue.  It's actually a Harley fender and no matter how thick you think it is...  it's thicker..😁. You would hate it😀

The fender is steel, I would weld some flat stops to the fender brackets so the bolts can not rotate.  This would capture the fender in position and the bolts
would only hold the fender on.
