Just have to check it to be sure the correct one is firing and theyre semi close to where they should be gap and timing.

Again, dont know what happens with plug wires/points reversed, I'd bet nothing good and its also easy to check, GL

Semi old gas shouldnt matter much if everything is right, I was thinkin float height or actual delivery to the carb.  Make sure the pipes are clear, the popcorn machine is usually pretty obvious if one isnt firing or flowing and they are pretty slow on 1 cylinder.

Only a couple screws to check timing too if just to see if it looks about right.

Slides reversed? I forget how that acts. They do run okish with the crossover tube off.

BB gun wars were a regular thing for us especially once we got our hands on some fireworks so that we could have artillery.

There were quite a few "accidents" that moms decided required an ER visit.

No permanent injuries somehow, there certainly were no rules to prevent them and roman candles at close range aint no joke.

Now that we're thinkin, we had rock wars before we had bb guns and I remember someone getting it in the head with 1/2 a brick.  That was a nasty one but probably just a Tuesday afternoon for us.

Nuclear science was not something we we're concerned with it seems

I need to get on that payin a guy program but I got a sweet two stroke Toro that rips and eats anything you feed it

Cycle recyclers on Bonzo Road by Beaver Falls is still a bit of an old school yard, think theres another up that way too.  Its nice to buy whole bikes for what a motor costs on ebay

Men engage in sports, namely bullfighting, motor racing and mountaineering.

i mean, its a compatible part for a 45+ year old bike. oem was all fiber. just be glad you can get anything, unlike the dark days in the 90s/early 200's where you had to hope a dealership had stuff from 20-25 years ago still laying around.

yeah, and stay off my lawn :dawg:

Parts availability is incredible these days, clickety clickety some dude brings it to your house.  Do kinda miss the hunts at the boneyards and swapmeets, still go to some but it doesnt turn into a mission from God to find carb rubbers.

I dont think mine is even interesting until above 5k and you can pretty much ham fist it from idle and only winds up a bit, Dave F, 160main iirc, stock pipes/cylinder, crossover.

I'm thinkin u got something else goin on there. Certain you are getting fuel?  Fresh, clean fuel? Certain the carb pieces are correct? Center tube things cleaned and installed all the way in for sure?  Needle mounted correctly? No monsterous air leaks?  Exhaust and air filter clear for sure? Pistons not backwards?(I forget what this does)

Just some suggestions down some other paths, GL

I think I'll concur that if u think this should be number 1, youve never played lawn darts

Hey little Johnny, how bout a puncture wound with a 3/8 diameter needle thats been stuck in the ground repeatedly :whoop:

I think I still have at least a partial set, will bring em to the Gap the next time I'm back early enough :busey:

Ha, we just did rear brakes on an older Honda quad and I can tell you that there was a significant amount of massaging required.

I do not know if they were oem pads so that may have been part of it. That and the 15 years of junk and corrosion.

I end up buzzing the ears on automotive brake pads probably 80% of the time, gone a little too far a few times but you get used to the rattle. Kept getting calipers that would sieze quickly even after doing the lines and mc so I was making sure the pads werent going to be a problem.

I think every RD I have owned had some oil leakage.  I bought two of the UK-made kits, haven't installed them yet.

400 hasnt yet, 350 and YSR yes.  "Fixed" both of them probably down to a few drops per year.  IIRC the YSR just got cleaned and gooped cuase the seal wasnt available at the time, not sure bout now.

Used to bother me but I've learned to accept their nature:)

That is suprising, really, how many are they gonna sell even if every 400 bought one?

Keyboard welders scheduled to arrive in 10, 9, 8....

I'd have put 3 holes in it and had to put a patch on it, old, dirty and thin is tricky.

Its stuck together, run it:)

125 with giant hard bags and solid 80s styling, interesting combination.  I have never seen one before for sure.

+1, if you are doing it every year, you could try just about anything as long as you are not losing pistons and cylinders.  Sock on a gutter guard?

Mine last forever as well, dont oil either.  I wouldnt think it would just be the weather even tho its notoriously hot in India.  The sun is also usually hard on plastics but they are covered mostly.

Maybe something is in your fuel that is not in ours and whatever blowback you get is eating them?  Or maybe you are not getting the real ones
