No,  if the pins engage you can't turn the shaft in the correct direction via the white plastic wheel.

Correct, but take just the large washer off first and you can view the direction of the gear.

Sounds like you got the internal gear the wrong way round. It will free wheel in the other direction if this is the case.

Set minimum stroke with shims and set pulley to correct mark, via the cable.

Well, over here in the UK, many, many people are in a real pinch with the cost of living, etc.

My experience of that is nil, (as far as the guys I deal with are concerned). They are still very willing to pay money out for bike related stuff.

A new dish washer might be a different matter!

Leasure activities seem more important than ever.

Ok. That should be alright as long as there is very little full throttle use. The pump kicks out about 20:1 after the 3/4 throttle position.

Sounds like a partial seizure to me. Could have been an air leak too...

What ratio premix are you using?

So here are 2 "old" style pumps.
The one on the left out of a yd7 the one on the right from a r5.
Why is the inlet port clocked different between the two?
I don't know why the need for the (earlier) inlet nozzle position. Also the brass nozzles could be different here. The early one had a smaller diameter where it fits in the casting, and the valve seat is direct in the Aluminium, with no rubber valve insert.

Yes, I've swapped lots of pumps around when necessary. On the change over from early to later pumps, there is the issue whether to use a thrust washer on the end of the wormshaft, or not.

I stated it was the older pump before we saw the shaft.
The brass nozzles were the big clue. The B model had steel outlet nozzles.

You will need a new seal for that shaft now.
