Replacement RD250/350/400 Carburetors – Mikuni VM Round Slide Series 28mm Carburetors (pair). Original carburetors for the RD250/350/400 are no longer available from Yamaha. However, Mikuni does offer new VM28 round slide carburetors that are very similar in function and appearance to the original RD carbs. They do require re-jetting, a new throttle cable and optional oil injection. We include a 2 line cable for bikes that use premix or a 3 line cable if you choose the oil injection option. The oil injection option includes new oil nozzles. These carbs are only available with left hand idle screw and have individual choke levers (no choke crossover between carbs). We can jet the carbs for a stock RD250, RD350 or RD400 or for your specific application if you have pipes and other modifications that require jetting changes. Please submit a note with your order upon checkout for jetting changes required, if additional information is required we will contact you. Carb sets are built to order, please allow 5-7 days for shipping. You should let us know the year/model of your RD and any modifications, pipes, air filter, porting, etc. Note: The oil injection option is not required for the R5/DS7.

Hi Guys, we've sold the reproduction harnesses for the RD's and RZ's for a few years now and they've worked out great. So I'm thinking of doing harnesses for other bikes. The question is which ones? and not limited to RD's and 2 strokes.

Due to the high cost of cush drives from Yamaha for the RZ350 ($120), A few guys asked me to have some made up. These also fit the FJ600, FZ600 and Maxim. These are $34.95 for the complete set.

We also had Samco make up some hose kits in a natural look rubber finish, still silicone but look more like the originals with a matte finish, no printed logos on the natural ones.

There use to be a write up on the old forum with pics. Anyone have those or a link? I tried searching the old form but doesn't seem to work.

Anyone have a good baseline jetting for VM32's on a 350?

long shot but would anyone know if DG's would fit a Canadian 79 E model? It looks like our 78 but the barrels are 2R9.

Have a customer running UPP manifolds with the bigger VM's. What do you think is causing this? weight, heat, fuel, overtightened?

I've sold lots of these manifolds and haven't had this come up before.

06/26/2021 Update

As ecommerce (websites & search engines) have evolved over the years so has competition and the ability to find parts, Walmart sells some RD parts now for example but even among established 2 stroke vendors the competition exists and is alive and well. It's much easier to find RD parts then it was just a decade ago. This has been great for the RD community, there's more than ever available for them and the competition helps to keep prices in check.

We've always had a great relationship with the forum and we want that to continue but we have to make some changes to the forum discount. Going forward the minimum order amount for the discount will be $250 per order. And we'll still continue with the flat rate shipping which can be a significant discount with medium and large orders.

This is just a business decision and not meant to reflect on the forum negatively.
