Seems like a really bad idea. I wouldn't want my reg/insurance papers out there in public view where they are easy to swipe. Around here that's a prime target for identity theft criminals

It used to be required to be visible on the steering column in CA. Burglars would go to the airport parking lot, get an address off the reg, and go break into the unoccupied house. That law was changed fortunately.
