Hello,

I saw the pipe ID thread, but didn't think that was the right place to post since I'm not entirely sure what these are. I was told a long while back that they were made by Pypeline, but it's also been suggested that these could be Spec II classics. Any help would be great.

They for sure are not Spec IIs. I think they may be pipelines as well.

i actually have a set of those in the shop as well.  :metal:

Performance is good, and fit is way better than most other vintage pipes.

Thank you! I agree - the pipes are lightweight and are very easy to install. They are very LOUD as well:)

This is probably more for turning wrenches, but can minor dents effect tuning and performance? I've had trouble tuning the bike with these on. The plugs are black and oily no matter what the main jet is, and I've moved from 230 and settled on 190's. I think I'm experiencing more of a fuel/carburetor issue, but figured I'd ask just in case.

no, you have to pretty severely damage a pipe to affect performance.  :twocents: i think John Aylor did some testing and it was like 25-30% crushed affected in. it was some ridiculous amount.

The dent that shows in the pic is clearance for the center stand mounts.

Thanks again!

The few smallish dents are hard to see due to the photo and are mainly located on the underside of the left pipe and up towards the header portion of the other. Nothing as dramatic as 25-30%. Thanks for the info.

I'd like to clean these up and eventually find a shop that will take out the dents as long as its not too much $.
