is it really that great of a deal with 27k KMs on it and no reason why it is apart? I mean I hope it is a fair price and snapped up quick- because it bodes well for me selling my 1987 TZR250R Japanese domestic market bike with CA title in similar condition with only 12k miles  :vroom: .

I think it's a generally fair price, and the fact that it's a fully faired model that wasn't sold here adds appeal. The built engine and pipes are attractive, as well.

yeah, I completely missed the rebuilt motor in the description. My eyes were glossing over with all the minutiae of "license plate holder, passenger grab rail, shifter linkage" etc.  Makes more sense now.

Fun fact, I visited Vancouver around 1994 and these things were buzzing around everywhere. Long time ago but I seem to remember "RD" on a lot of them and there were even 4 cylinder "RD500" versions but don't remember "RZ" on any of them. Some alternate paint schemes like a really nice blue/yellow. I had previously owned a Canadian imported White/Blue 1981 LC350 and surprisingly saw none of those on my trip.

I was wondering about that but you're not alone as I had the same thoughts about how great of a deal it really is but a lot of that is personal for me in terms of what I would want from the bike and my budget and my experience here on this forum also with my RD. I think in terms of parts its a very good deal, a good starting point. Now you have to assume the engine/motor is all there and was built right the first time and very much plug and play but who knows? Maybe the crank seals need replacing, maybe it would have a oil leak. Maybe the clutch will slip and a whole lotta of other maybes. Never mind the condition of the wire harness and ignition parts but it's got bigger carbs as stated. I really do like the condition of it cosmetically and the pipes are nice. There's a wicked lot to like about it. If you really want an RZ you can do it right the first time with this one, you'll have too   and maybe your only into it for the asking price and a couple grand more plus sweat equity but maybe more like you into it for double the asking price.

The only water cooled RD models that Canada got were the 81 & 82 350LC, everything else was designated RZ. The 500 V4 sold in Canada was the RZ500, they did not get the RD500LC which was a Europe/UK version.
