Sprocket sizes

When I re-timed the bike, I figured I should find out what sprockets I have, teeth number wise. So, this bike has 16 39 which seems somewhat of an oddball size based on my searches? Is this okay for street driving, doubt this will see freeway action, lots of stop and go.

stock is 15/39. do you know if somebody put a 250 primary/clutch in the bike?

i run a 16/40 ont he 70 r5 and its fine. 15/39 is good, especically in town. 14/39 is lots of wheelies but fun. max of about 80-90 mph best case scenario wound the f out.

I'm not even sure what that means (250 primary/clutch)?   I know the guy I bought it from put Barnett friction plates and springs. Then took half the springs out cause it was harder than snot to pull the lever.

the rd250 primary/clutch gear has a more aggressive ratio, most people don't do this (i do), and a common 'correction' is to go up one on the front sprocket. If this was done, i would have bet it would have been mentioned.

I mean, ride it. see if you like it. front sprockets are cheap. experiment with what you want, its def a personal preference thing. .

The guy ran this bike on the salt flats, once, so anything is possible.
