Skinny lift...

That's what got my interest. It would help save space, which is very limited in my garage. As long as it's stable

Doesn't look like it gets much higher than that. About the right height for a kick-stool or rolling mechanics chair though.

the few times i've worked in actual shops i've used the larger lifts, and prefer them over the skinnier ones by far. In those situations i typically worked on larger bikes, including harleys and metric cruisers. (yes, you read that right).
However, they take up quite a lot of footprint of a shop.

My shop space situation will be changing sooner than later and gaining more shop floor-space, i might get one. But not a tiny one, doesn't really save floor space as you still need the footprint for stability, but i can see the benefit, sort of,  if you are working on a really narrow bike, like an MX bike.

Not very useful without a center stand, it seems....A rear pit stand will not work.

^ true. one thing to always get is one of the lift jacks. sit son the lift and will act as a small flat base jack on the lift itself.

Is that why you despise cruisers Mark? :)

Seems working on them over a period of time for pay would make anyone hate them after a while. Nobody I know that's a motorcycle mechanic loves being a motorcycle mechanic anymore. At least here in Michigan anyway. The powersports dealers here all either have mass layoffs for Winter, or switch to Snowmobiles and they hate those too lol.

Metric cruisers are the WORST to work on, hands down by far the fucking worst ever.

I've always disliked them overall though, from riding.  Wrenching on them didn't help my disposition though.

Crawl under a nasty, muddy or cow-shitty side-by-side and you'll be dreaming of that Vulcan!

Ahh yes, this is a very good point and pretty much rules out a narrow lift for me. Oh well, back to the drawing board
