Permatex "The Right Stuff" is perfect in this application and it likes a 24 hr cure time too. Bonus- it's black in color.

What do the flanges look like on DG pipes? Does the DG flange design lend itself to use of the Kaw H2 blue muffler connector rubbers for spooge condoms?

I've used heat wrap to decent effect as a diaper on various 2T exhausts. It's not a bad method. I just safety wire it in place.

If using high temp RTV it works better if you let the flange sit for at least half an hour so a skin forms before fitting the pipes to them
