I don't know why I haven't purchased one of these sooner. Checks thread size on both bolts and nuts and only around $25. I'm excited that I can finally measure and organize all my spare stash of metric bolts/ nuts!

I got the idea from the wall mounted unit at Ace Hardware. Being as organized as possible is a virtue and this tool will def help there. Bought mine off eBay which had better pricing than Amazon for this.

If I bought one, I'd cut the cable and put the pieces in a homemade holder.
My buddy has this.  It's great for nuts and bolts, but a PIA for checking something that's mounted, like studs and threaded holes on a motorcycle.

I'm pretty accurate eyeballing but have a large stock of bolts/ nuts I want to verify and make sure of the size. Then, bag em and tag em.

Holy hell, I spent an hour at the HW store testing the size and pitch of a bunch of oddball stuff this winter and ordered stainless (which wasn't available local).  I need that thingy.
