Emgo Headlamp Fits Stock RD Housing

Not making this up.

I was waiting on IT to fix something for work and since I'm at home I get to tinkering. I noticed the lamp on the replacement Emgo I bought was really close in size to my stock housing and most importantly my headlamp ring.

So I disassembled the Emgo.  Fair warning now, the lens and body of the emgo are separate parts. So, great care should be taken to not break or damage anything. But, here's what I did.

The lamp lens is just barely sized large enough to keep from falling out of the rim, yet sits well on the rim. So, what I did to take up the space and keep things in position was I used some of that 3/16" window seal around the inside lip of the rim and using the 4 W clips I centered the lamp and installed the clips evenly spaced.

With a bit of pressure everything centered up nice and straight.

See the attached pics for the result. The one with the clips installed was my initial placement and concept minus the window seal.

NOTE:

Position the reflector with the bulb facing the right way. Otherwise high beam looks like low beam and low beam looks like high beam. Oops. Lol

1) Nice "Back to the Future" shirt.
2) How about a part # for the Emgo headlight?

Just for clarification, the 4 "W" clips are part of the Emgo assembly and are transferred to the OEM Yamaha headlight ring?

When this baby hits 88 MPH, you're going to see some serious shit!

Well done, Striker. Thanks for sharing. Your windows may be a bit drafty now; but at least you won't be riding in the dark.
I’ll just shut up now and go back my Crayons and coloring book
