While removing the flywheel, my home made adjustable spanner was not set correctly (holder went too far inside the inlet) and ended up splitting a single winding on the stator. Does anyone have experience with sending it out to be re-wound? Or should I save the hassle and purchase aftermarket stator + CDI?

Thanks in advance

The only place that I have found that still rewinds stators is Ricks, but if you contact them about rewingding they will just try sell you one of their stators.

I just changed out the stator on my RZ /banshee motor because the banshee stator did not have enough juice to run a fan and overheated the wingdings.
I went with a Vape, but it is a complete system with a stator, rotor and voltage regulator and needs a zeel cdi to work.

The Zeel stator also needs a zeel cdi to work.

Most of the other aftermarket stators will work with your CDI, but reliability is hit and miss.
