Hi all,

I'm working on cleaning up some acid-caused corrosion and rust on steel parts and am curious to know how others have approached this problem. Scrape, clean, and paint? POR-15?

Thanks,
Matt

baking soda and water to neutralize. then scrape, clean (lacquer thinner or denatured alcohol), repaint.

Let me add that you should replace the battery with and AGM, Gel, or other non-venting battery. I used an AGM scooter battery in my RD400c.

Thanks for the suggestions. Definitely going with a non-venting battery on the rebuild.
