Ok so I have ordered bearings from ebay ....usa n uk

Middle bearings are NOS bit stiff and the 30 40 years old lubricant has turned sticky brown :)

Is it good idea to soak them in 2T oil overnight  before building the crank?

Or just use them as is and they will smoothen up ?

Cheers,
Pravin

Just to follow up on one more post..... What's the difference between hollow and solid crank pin ?
My machinist said solid pins are not RD ones ..

These I have bought

I could not find the hollow pin with a hole ..

The crank pins being hollow versus not was just a machining cost savings most likely. If the pin is the same dimension, it won't matter.

AFIK all the Yamaha pins supersede to that splined, solid RD400 pin.

Wiseco makes a hollow pin and there is a hollow Kawasaki you can use.
The difference is weight and the splines "hold" better
