I put the RD350 bottom end together (6 speeds present and everything turns freely and smoothly) and found my right side crankshaft O-ring 360-11526-00-00, the goofy one:

is crap. Economy is out of stock, CMS has a reproduction in the Netherlands and there are a few on eBay for $60-70. Couldn't find it at any retail site, HVC or FFTP. Anybody know of a better source than I've found?

I don't use them, just a bit of yamabond on the key

Thank you, I thought I remembered a post to that effect but couldn't find it. DesmoDrew found them at Mike's XS as well, so I just have to decide how impatient I am. I have Yamabond 4...

ive used just an o ring and a dap of silicone in the slot. use 'the right stuff'. or nothing, early bikes didnt even have that o-ring, just a longer key. ;)

What mark said.

LC just uses a plain o-ring.

Dab a little MotoSeal on the key as needed.

I got one from Lyn , and if I remember right Lyn said yamabond would do.

This thread should be added to the "engine" section of the Yamaha tech posting page.
Stuff like this is golden info.

I decided to go the Yamabond route. It's curing near the wood stove now.

Where is this seal located? I can not find it in my shop manual.
Thanks much

Right side of the crank, it seals the primary gear. It was a change made by Yamaha midway through the 74 model year
