Not being entirely happy with the Dash on the RD I ordered a bunch of NOS spares from CMS. Apparently they're celebrating their 25 year anniversary. So, I received a sweet CMS Yamaha poster with a picture of a DT and cartoon chickie. Also, a hat lol.

But, here's the spares. Now the dash will be straight. I just have extra parts to probably sell as necessary.

CMS has a pretty sweet stash of NOS parts.

They have a NOS JDM clock surround I want so bad for the LC.

The speedometer has the absolute crispest spinning trip reset I've felt on one of these speedos yet. It's like butter. These are obviously older NOS gauges from likely the 73, 74 bikes and the dead giveaway is the back shape and the location of the odometer verses the trip meter. Luckily I have some gauge spacers for the back. Just have to track them down so I can properly tighten the gauge backs.

The speedo trip reset knob was bent over. So a firm but gentle tweak and it's back as straight as I dare to push it. Mist have taken a hit at some point in it's life.

The rubber surround and internal parts on the dash itself are excellent. Supple and as one would expect.

The rings in the dash are a set that came with another gauge set I bought this year.  They're not brand new but they fit surprisingly right. I don't think I'll use them, however. I'll try my window seals again.

The gauge faces are obviously gorgeous. The faded look you see on the pics is from the fog on the glass from being in off the porch. It's cold here lol.

I checked them and they work ok for me.

NOS Oil Pump showed up...

JUST KIDDING!

Arrow rebuilt the pump and if you thought it was NOS you'd be hard-pressed to tell otherwise. Let me tell you, his communication was exceptional. The service was outstanding and just looking at the care he takes in servicing these old pumps gives me nothing short of the upmost confidence in the pump.

Hit a snag on the NOS speedometer cup. It's for the wrong speedo. Oops. The actual trip reset knob is positioned differently between the two speedometer styles.

Also, the speedo and tacho did not come with the spacers that mount between the cup and the gauge itself that prevents overtightened cap nuts. I have 2 from the speedo currently on the bike, but I think I stupidly threw out the other pair I had thinking I'd never need them lol. Whoops.

A trip to the hardware store will fix that. Because Yamaha did not issue a part number for them. They most likely came with the actual gauges originally.

Speedo cup sorted. NOS Dash Wiring Harness and an assortment of good used bulbs means the dash was ready for assembly.

Dash itself got the window seal treatment as spending over $100 on NOS foam inserts was laughable to me (even though I already spent well over what I anticipated lol). Unplugged the harnesses for the dash on the bike and stole the bulbs from the known good assembly. Installed the ignition switch first, then plugged in all the new bulb sockets with a little dab of oil on each and a satisfying snap.

Should be good to go. If the window seals fail to hold up I'll experiment further with denser foam.
