That arrow is pointing in the wrong direction! 
Should point towards the exhaust port of the cylinder, not the intake side......

The arrow was correct, the windows are cut in the wrong side. If the piston was fitted with the windows in the intake the ring ends would be in a port.
So much for quality control in that factory.

Way back when, I machined pistons for Homelite.  You usually have a jig designed to prevent such things.

Yeah I am surprised it could get machined backwards. Perhaps they mill the holes before the skirts?

Jebus, now we cant trust the arrows? This is going to be as bad as the reversed slides thing, and that damn choke tube:)
