Kaw G3SS Lights

Got the bike running.
The key gas 3 switch pisitions.
Off
Run
Run & Lights .

When running # switching to Lights .
The bike dies.
Battery is good & charged.

Bad connections somewhere.
Simple electric with the chargw,  lighting coils & a rectifier

do the lights come on w out it running?

should just be the tailight/gauge light coming on, headlight, if i remember correctly, only comes on when its running as one leg of ac goes to that, while the other goes though the single diode rectifier tot he battery. if thats the case, then see if it has the stock bulb in there.

Looks ti be stock bulb.
Wiring shows yellow as from the lighting coil.
I will disconnect & check voltage.
Also see if after disconnecting if bike goes off when ignition switch in Lights position

The third position is only park I thought? In other words the tailight stays on and the key can be removed. Bike won't run.

Bike should have a switch to get the lights on when in regular run position.

my g3 didnt have a park position.  key has an off, run, run w lights as said.

Started it up tonight.
Adjusted idle a little higher.
Lights worked fine when switched on.

Adjusted idle back down a bit.
Still worked

Bike is ornery .

yup. idle at 1200-1400 ish should be ok

Weird, must not really remember then haha. Been a while for me and the G3.
