I put grease on then, in the hope they come apart cleaner

it also comes right off for disassembly. great for intakes (reeds etc) as well.

I do this as well, but no sealant.

just a smear of grease on each face works for me. no more ripping them in half when you remove the barrels and mine have never leaked

Yes grease on both sides and done ..

Grease for me. Unless the contact surfaces are roached. Then I go with high tack spray.
