Just got confirmation from John at Economy that my very long list of parts and refreshed cylinders/heads shipped. I'll be tearing down the motor the rest of the way soon. I'm considering getting the upper and lower case vapor blasted as it appears to bring it back to "like new" condition. I have a media blast cabinet but I'm thinking vapor might be the way to go. I got a quote of $300 to do this.

Anyone have any experience with vapor blasting? Happy with the results?

I had my RD250 crankcase, covers, cylinders & heads vapor blasted and I was very happy with the way they turned out. See post #13 in this thread for some before/after pictures:

I would say better than new. I've had plenty of stuff done.. carbs, cases, etc.

Same here, I had the cases on my RD done and they looked amazing when I got them back.

Mike, you are welcome to come look at my blast cabinet I converted to vapor last summer. It is currently dry due to recent very cold weather. I can show you the cases I did, and carbs, have not used it much yet as I just converted at the end of last summer. I am probably not far from you. My son 3d printed led light holders from an online file. All the rest of the stuff was bought online, not to pricey to do.

That would be great. Where are you located?

Tons of videos on YouTube on how to convert a HF sand blast cabinet into a vapor hone unit.
Here is one of the better ones.

There are many good videos. This is the guy I follow, many very good tutorials. He also does a ton of 3d printing, and he is very helpful.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OuqL9xWJE48&t=364s
