I wouldn't get too excited about any refunds coming soon. What was struck down by the court was the use of an emergency rule universally beyond intent. There are several other legitimate tariff rules available to the Executive branch to achieve the same effect. Those will be overlapped on top of each other as deadlines expire. They just have to mind the deadlines so there is no gap in the applications of each new tariff under existing rules.

oh  . they're coming. the brokerage companies and shipping companies are going to get sued to the moon if they don't give refunds.  they are just getting ahead of it.

my company is in for a few million. they already filed.  now multiply that by every leg of industry that was affected.  the ones we were affected by were the ones that were struck down. ie illegal and therefore must be repaid. IMHO I think it's going to come as a tax deduction over a certain amount. but the mechanism id there. 45 +% is a far cry from rhe 10-15%

Here the official alert when you will send a parcel to the United States per DHL:

Current Notice:
Due to a recent executive order issued by the U.S. government, customs regulations for imports into the United States have changed. Private senders can still send gifts to private individuals valued up to $100 per shipment and documents via regular postal mail to recipients in the U.S. and the US customs territory of Puerto Rico. Please make sure that:
- the total value of goods does not exceed $100 / €85
- the contents of the shipment are clearly marked as "Gift" accordance with U.S. import regulations, or as "Documents" if applicable.
Due to the new U.S. customs regulations, sending gifts valued over $100 or commercial goods via regular postal mail is no longer possible until further notice. In such cases, both private and business senders can use DHL Express via the DHL online postage service for shipping. You can find official U.S. government information on the background of these changes here (Executive Order) and here (Fact Sheet).

Glad it was a cable. Box was quite damaged.

Cable looks pretty good quality-wise.

Just got a text from FedEx saying I owe $20 in "tax, tariff and fees" on this (broken) $20 cable from CMSNL. :busey:

In Germany, it is a bit different. If you get a parcel from outer the European Union you will get an invoice from the shipping company in front of getting the parcel. You will get the parcel finally delivered only if you pay the customs/tariffs and sale tax in front. But that is handled this way since a few years. Nothing new for us.
