Yes the very frustrating. The outcome for me, time & time again in trying to post with a picture  :bang: leading to me to just delete the post altogether.

I've been slowly working on the RD again.  Hurricane Helene really put a stop to my time in the shop for a while.  I got a little bracket made to hold the taillights and worked out the mounting for them.  I'm working on the mounts to hold the seat to the frame, but haven't taken pictures of that yet.  It's been a real 2-steps-forward-and-one-step-back ordeal.

During our recent cold snap, I decided to give the expansion chamber freezing sent removal method another try.  I tried it a few years ago, but I don't think they stayed cold enough for long enough.  I'm really happy with the result.  It even popped out a few inch dent right on a weld.  One of the pipes is leaking in 3 spots, but it should be too hard to weld up.

Yeah, I'm happy with it.  I'm trying to keep the cost down for the rest of this build.  If I have to buy new chambers, they'll be something actually good and I don't want to drop that kind of money right now.

So I have been making slow progress on the RD.  Mostly working on the nose fairing situation.  My shop still hasn't been repaired after Helene (note the plywood hanging down in the background).  I was planning to use the Piranha fairing I got from a group member, but decided I wanted more of a Dunstall fairing look.  I'd also have to buy a new windscreen for the Piranha, which is north of $200.  I pulled the trigger on this no-name ABS plastic eBay fairing and the quality is pretty good.  It's a bit smaller than I'd expected, making fitment weird.  Also, the windscreen flattens out quickly as is curves towards the rider, complicating jamming gauges into it.  I'm seriously considering using it as a mold to make a fiberglass fairing closer to the dimensions I'd like.  I'd you look at it currently, the bit sweeping back next to the tank rides pretty high.  On these fairings it seems improper to not have it follow the bottom line of the tank.  Thoughts?  One of the reason this damn thing has taken so long is I have specific looks in mind and don't want to just slap it back together.
