Not mine, No connection, etc.

Not sure if it added the photo. Site is being weird.

That is definitely NOT a 1980. Maybe a 1976?, and not worth 12k in my mind.

Quote from: m in sc on January 13, 2026, 07:00:32 PMyes on the transmissions far as i know, the cranks, you can't fit a 400 one in there but the lc ones are easy to find in europe new aftermarket.  I know, i bought one and fit it to an ac motor. can you put a 350 ac crank in there, im 99% sure yes

I would not be so sure about a 400 trans fitting the LC cases, something tells me it won't. I'm pretty sure the LC350 and RD400 trans are the same ratio though if that's what you are after. As for a crank, I bought mine from PJME in the UK. I would not bet on a 400 crank fitting the LC cases without major mods.

If you're not sure if it's too rich or too lean flip the enrichener (choke) on. If it gets worse you are too rich, if it gets better you are too lean.

It's mostly done. Just a few odds and ends to finish up and she's a runner. It got a new 60cc top end, tires, cables, brakes, bars, grips, forks, plastics and seat.

I had those size rims and front tire on my RD when I owned one. It fits but its tight.

Is this going to get the usual Spooner treatment? Water-cooled upgrade, Lectron, and custom-fabbed bits? :dawg:

Well, I was thinking about buying an FMF chamber for it, and it IS going to get a 60cc top end. 😁

Micro Muscle: Under 100cc's / YZinger freshen up
May 04, 2025, 12:00:07 AM
It's time to freshen up the PW for the grandkids. This is an 81, I bought it in about 88 or 89 when my oldest son was 3 or 4. It's been sitting for the last 25 years. It started like it ran yesterday. It's gonna get a 60cc top end, new cables, tires, bars and grips, forks and plastics, and a few other bits. Should be fun. I've also got a 1980 YZ50 that will probably get freshened up as well. Parts are a little harder to find for that tho.

There is a difference in length, the 250 studs are shorter. I have done it without changing the studs and have not had any problems.

What they ^^^^ said. Personally, FWIW, i would not worry about reliability. I had a very modded 350 and had no issues. If you take your time and build it right and listen to the experience on the forum you will be fine.

My guess is the left side pilot and jet tube are plugged, so no fuel or very little fuel for that cylinder, also your carbs are probably out of sync and I'd also check the timing.

Is anyone going to Austin? My son and I will be there hanging out with Russ (SoCal250). If you're going look us up.

Not worth it, especially for a 125.

All of the kits you gave links to show the same parts as the one from economy. I'm not sure what you are seeing. FWIW, spend the extra money and get the kit from economy.

Turning Wrenches / Re: battery voltage drop?

Quote from: irk_miller on January 06, 2025, 08:58:18 PMI would load test the battery before assuming a bad battery is your issue.  Just turning the ignition switch on shouldn't drain it that quickly unless your exciting the starter solenoid. The ignition coils don't draw more than 4 amps.

Depends if he's got the headlight on or not.
