What's the riding experience like?

It's excellent, in my opinion. All the positive aspects of an earlier RD just more refined.

was that a Chinese cylinder kit? And why wasn't the tang removed from piston skirt? I thought that is basically standard procedure these days.

Yep, it was. The other cylinder was fine, and I know of at least two other bikes running those kits that have had zero problems, so ... ??? I'm betting we just missed it on assembly. As for the tang, it's smoothed inward to ensure it couldn't catch on the port but complete removal is always an option too.

yeah one of us did that. not sure who but was def an install fail.

I've coveted this bike for YEARS now. I remember seeing one at a show in Hendersonville, NC several years back and have been keeping an eye out for one ever since. A guy I know from the annual Deal's Gap rally agreed to let me take custody of his last week. Shout out to m in sc for helping to get us connected. Isn't she pretty?!?!?

In case you've ever wondered what might happen if a piston pin circlip works its way out, I can tell you it's not pretty. We installed this top end around 3 years ago. It probably has around 300 miles on it as a guess. Not sure if the clip was faulty or if it wasn't completely seated in the piston, but either way ... boom!

Excellent trip overall! I think we only had to wave one person past us on the little bikes.

I own a factory suzuki  Hop Up Pipe for this bike.... It needs  a new home!

I'd say there's a good chance we can work something out there.

So I have alot of mechanical parts, carbs, reeds and intakes, rebuilt crank, factory airbox with Uni filter, rotor and stators, brake rotors, exhaust plus much more (tip of iceberg) that I have not even got to, all stored in boxes in my garage and shed.  All details are on FB marketplace or I could reach out to anyone thru PM.  Thanks

I've only ever seen one 2-stroke Tecumseh motor and that was on a lawnmower 35 years ago. This thing looks fun.

Nice!    That nice idle/ tick over once y'all got her running is testament to the wrenching ability of the men working on it!,   By chance, did that purchase come out of Griffin GA? I watched that listing for weeks and wondered why no one jumped on it!  These don't pop up very often.. Enjoy!

I have a pretty baller old AF air filter, too. No camel hair but plenty of mouse excrement.
