R5B battery box and wiring

What's missing here? What do your battery connections and wires in the area look like? I'd like to have a larger cable with a female bullet connector in there instead of replacing the male connector at neg terminal with a spade. I don't want to leave anything out. Why is there an extra male connector?
Everything works as it should; all of the lights, charges well, runs.

Found this somewhere. Wrong battery, but makes my version look decent.
