I somehow managed to install the side cover without taking note of the oil pump drive gear on my RD400c. When I pulled the cover, I found the nut and pin in the bottom of the case and the washer destroyed.
Some meat removed from the drive gear as well. Of course it's no longer available. Are there any options for a replacement? Or am I boned and my only option to fork over the $65 for the one I found on eBay?
Or should I run it as is?

There should be a code on that gear. Let me know, I should have one.

The only thing I see on the gear is 1A1

They are rocking horse shit here in the UK. Let me look. I will get back to you.

I've never heard that expression, and I love it.

Thanks!

We also need to know why it came off. Make sure you have all the correct parts on the assembly.

The only thing I can think of is it wasn't aligned right and priming the pump managed to loosen the nut right off.

It was fine the first time I installed the cover. But I pulled the cover to fix the kickstarter spring. When I reinstalled it, the pump wasn't turning and I found out why.

I'll go through it again, for sure, to be certain everything was there

?
Priming the pump with the thumb wheel doesn't even turn the wormshaft.

In that case, it must have spun the nut loose when the engine turned?

Do you have item 3 in the screenshot I posted?

I have a gear for you. Where are you based?

The pin was there, it was lying in the bottom of the case when I pulled the cover.
The gear was still lodged in there at an angle.

I'm in the US (zip code 26554). How much do you want for the gear?

Is that West Virginia?
