Today I went on a pretty hard canyon ride with the HPI ignition and it ran great.  This is with no battery and full AC led lighting.

There is a definite improvement in midrange and the deadspot at higher elevations is gone now.   I used to have to downshift to get around that but now it pulls cleanly.  It might have something to do with the advance curve?

the best part is no more points to adjust.  I just went my last set from Japan last month.

HPI mini rotor is totally worth the money.

Thanks for the feedback.
Could you please share the type of LED (headlight bulb) that you are using and RR unit as well? Many thanks!

Hi Daryl,

I don't have an led headlight at the moment.  I originally used an HS1 type with an LED and it burned out.  I think I am going to try one with an ac volts rating.  I think the ones with the super brite driver chips cant handle the AC volts.

I put back in the 35W halogen although dim at idle, when it revs up to 2500 rpms its adequate.  Tail light I just used an 1157 LED type.  The super brite wouldn't work when I applied the brakes but a standard 1157 led replacement did.  I think it's the led driver chip not working correctly with AC volts.  I am using the trail tech AC regulator and floating the ground as well.

i used a fanless one, i blew the 1st one but the second one seemed to take the ac just fine.

similar to this. been in the bike 4 years now?

That ebay description reads like they took a dictionary and picked random words. How does the heat sink fit in the shell?

I went ahead and ordered another led headlight bulb with a 9-85Vac rating.  I will report back with results.  It was on amazon for 13.00.

I am not too sure about specifications these days.  Seems like in electronics these days they are all driven by a marketing spec.  I don't know what to believe?

If all else fails I'll utilize the one Marc used.
