Most RD's have the cylinders painted Black.
Some DT's & GT's were left in their original aluminum.
Most other bikes have them non-painted as well.

Just picked up a KH250, and the fins are painted a light silver, almost like the yamaha silver.
Older paint, as you can see it coming off.

I was wondering if this was standard for the Kaw triples?
As I want to clean it up a bit

doesn't mean somebody wont paint them later.
on all the triples ive had, including the small ones, ive never seen a set of jugs factory painted, ever.  maybe the 250s were different, dunno. seriously doubt it.

those ones in the listing mention NOS.
Looks like flaking

So makes me wonder.

I will search more.

KH models were late into the game, so?. I know my 72 & 73 S2's wasn't painted from the factory. nor the h1's or h2s i owned. I might be wrong. the triple board is going to be your best bet though on those pointed questions. I was never  a restorer of those, i just beat them until they gave up for the most part.   :bacon: :olaf:

To my knowledge base and have ridden and owned Kawasaki Triples since 1977 (currently own a blue 1972 H2), painted cylinder heads were never a factory offering.

I've had plenty of triples including a H1 and H2s, none have had painted cylinders.
