What to do with vent port on RZ350 CA carb

The brass vent port on the right side carb on California specific carbs had a pipe that ran somewhere??? Either to the smog cannister mounted by the radiator shroud or to the bottom of the fuel tank where there is another vent. I'll be using these carbs on my current build.

What do you do with this vent port when not using it? Can it be capped off or does it need to keep "venting"?





Found an old photo but still don't know where the other end terminates.

It looks like it runs up to the power valve.

I bet it had something to do with recycling of unburnt fuel. Smog being the CA concern.

Just a follow up here. I have 2 real life examples of people that capped off that California only vent port. I will cap it off.

Striker, it does not go to the power valve. I'm 99% sure it went to the carbon canister in addition to the California only fuel tank vent pipe.
