rd350b intake manifolds

when i bought this bike it already had the intake manifolds with cross over pipe. i notice on the back of the rubber intake manifold ears were trimmed off. it still has the factory reed valves and i was wondering should they be trimmed off or not?

they usually need to be trimmed when using later crossover intakes to fit earlier aircooled reedcages
